Art Trip is owned and run by Dominic Dear, a Franschhoek based specialist art and wine tour guide with a passion for discovering art, visiting galleries and experiencing local wineries.

Dominic worked in the hospitality industry for several years, starting off in London, then moving to South Africa, based predominantly in the winelands. He has extensive food and wine knowledge, developing unique relationships with local winemakers and restaurants.

Living in Franschhoek for 9 years, with its wonderful collection of galleries and restaurants, Dominic has developed the art, food and wine combination which come together perfectly. He can give guests a unique look at the galleries in the area, interact with winemakers, share local knowledge and enjoy the best food from award winning restaurants.

Add to this, his love of local history, Dominic knows and understands what goes into creating an unforgettable curated experience.

When Dominic is not in a gallery or on a wine farm, you are likely to find him in the mountains around Franschhoek indulging his other passions of mountain biking and hiking, which he has incorporated into some of his specialised itineraries.
